We arrive at the Boquete Visitor Center and are struck by the main entrance, which is modern and welcoming. The structure combines light-colored walls with dark wooden beams and a sloping roof, reflecting the beauty of the local architecture. Wide steps lead up to a covered porch, surrounded by plants that add a touch of greenery to the surroundings. The clear, blue sky highlights the natural beauty of Boquete, inviting us to explore all that the center has to offer.

Exhibition on the Ground Floor:
On the ground floor of the Boquete Visitor Center, you can see an interactive exhibit celebrating the natural diversity of the region. Green walls and illuminated information panels offer a wealth of information about orchids, amphibians, and other local flora and fauna. In the photos, you can watch other visitors exploring the detailed descriptions and images that highlight some of the region's most notable species. Learning about Boquete's biodiversity is a fascinating experience.
We continue our tour on the ground floor and find an exhibit that takes us back to Boquete’s rich history. The exhibit offers an immersion into the past of this charming region. We see a variety of artifacts, illustrations, and photographs that narrate the evolution of Boquete from its beginnings. Information panels and a display case with more artifacts provide detailed context about the first inhabitants and the influences that have shaped Boquete over time. Some visitors are lingering, intently reading the information.

Staircase, Upper Level and Visitor Center Terrace:
As we continue our tour of the Boquete Visitor Center, we ascend a staircase decorated with vibrant images of tropical flowers, including orchids and other local plants. The wooden steps add a rustic and natural touch to the experience. At the top of the staircase, we find a large window or glass door that gives access to a terrace. From this upstairs terrace, we can enjoy panoramic views of a forested and green area, highlighting the natural beauty of Boquete. The terrace is equipped with a tiled floor and a railing with a cross design that ensures the safety of visitors while enjoying the scenery.
On the same floor, we delve into the fascinating world of Boquete coffee. This exhibit highlights the region’s rich coffee-growing tradition, displaying detailed images of coffee plants. We explore display cases with various coffee-related items, such as coffee makers and grinders. We learn about the process of growing, harvesting, and roasting coffee, which makes Boquete coffee so special. Natural light and spotlights create a cozy and educational atmosphere.

Boquete Visitor Center Hours
The Boquete Visitor Center is a must-see for those who want to learn more about the biodiversity, history, and culture of this beautiful region. Since its official opening on January 8, the center has welcomed approximately 15,000 visitors, establishing itself as a key point for promoting tourism in Boquet.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Sunday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The center is designed to offer an immersive and educational experience on two floors. On the first level, visitors can explore the local ecosystems, highlighting the diversity of flora and fauna, as well as the majestic Barú volcano. On the second level, a cultural and historical tour is offered, where visitors can discover the coffee tradition and the history of the Ngäbe Buglé people.
